This page describes how Small Claims Kit ("we", "us") handles information you provide when you use smallclaimskit.com (the "Service"). This page is maintained by the operator of Small Claims Kit and is not an independent certification.
1. Information You Provide
When you use the intake form, you provide information about your dispute, such as:
- The type of case and a description of what happened;
- The dollar amount at issue;
- The other party's name and your filing state;
- The kinds of evidence you have and any notes you add.
You do not need to create an account to use the Service. We do not ask for a Social Security number, government ID, or bank account number.
2. Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure form and are not stored on our servers. We receive a transaction identifier that lets us confirm your purchase.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Generate your demand letter, filing checklist, court script, and counter-argument prep;
- Confirm your payment and honor refund requests;
- Respond to support emails you send us.
4. AI Processing
To generate your case kit, we send the contents of your intake form to a third-party AI provider that processes the request and returns the generated documents. That provider is contractually restricted from using your submission to train its models.
5. Local Storage in Your Browser
Your intake answers and generated case kit are stored in your browser's session storage and local storage so you don't lose your work on refresh. You can clear this at any time from your browser settings.
6. Subprocessors
We rely on the following service providers to run Small Claims Kit:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- AI model provider — generation of the case kit documents.
- Hosting provider — serving the website and running backend functions.
7. Retention and Deletion
You can request deletion of any information tied to your purchase by emailing help@smallclaimskit.com with the email address you used at checkout. We keep payment records as required by applicable tax and accounting rules.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
